Special Issue Information

Dear Colleagues,

This Special Issue on health promotion for rural and remote populations focuses on the current state of knowledge for health promotion to reduce inequity for people living in rural and remote communities. Every community is unique but there are many opportunities to learn from each other about innovations and practical implications for health-promoting actions for special populations or whole communities. We are interested in exemplars and case studies of health promoting services that address the social determinates of health as well as curative and preventive care and use a strength based approach to develop the capacity of the people being served, as well as rigorous evaluations from projects that promote physical health and or social and emotional wellbeing, or social capital and capacity building. In addition we welcome intervention research, reviews and epidemiological studies for submission to this Special Issue. We will accept manuscripts from different disciplines, addressing topics related to the scope.
